Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI)

On Tuesday, 02 August 2016, during a six-week stay for a leadership internship in the United States of America under the Mandela Washington Followship Program for Young African Leaders, fifteen (15) Burkinabe participants out of the 1,000 young people selected in 2016, , met with the authorities of the Embassy of Burkina Faso in Washington, DC.

The meeting was an opportunity for the fifteen young Burkinabe leaders to exchange views with the Second Counselor of the Embassy, ​​Mr Armand TIEMTORE, who for the occasion was assisted by collaborators, members of the Burkinabe community, as well as certain representatives the new office of the Burkinabe Association of Washington, DC and its Region (ABURWA).


Mr. TIEMTORE expressed the satisfaction of the authorities of Burkina Faso and of the Embassy that each year the participation of the young people is increasing in number in this training program with the American government in favor of African youth. He therefore invited the young Burkinabè to capitalize on the knowledge acquired during their stay in order to make it available to the other young people of Burkina Faso.
